Are you Handy or Palmy?
For baristas who hold the body of the tamper with their hand parallel to the handle and apply force with their whole hand.
The shape of the hand and pressing style
are decisive factors when choosing your tamper.
Long handle for a good grip with the whole hand and round tip to rest in the palm. Rounded and continuous piston-handle joint to support your thumb and let your little finger rest.
For baristas who press the palm of their hand on the upper part of the handle and their fingers between the edge of the piston and the filter holder. They apply force with the palm of their hand and use their fingers to level off with the filter holder.
Slightly shorter handle and wide head. This allows the hand to rest and the tip of the fingers to reach the base. The piston is high to protrude from the filter holder and allows both edges to be touched.
Local ash wood
Tropical woods are not used, but rather common European woods which come from FSC and PEFC controlled and certified sources.
Each barista has a different hand
3 sizes of tamper for each style.
S M L SIZES
Our tampers each have three sizes, to adjust to the anthropometry of each barista.
ONE BY ONE
To guarantee the adjustment between the piston and the handle, and guarantee a good touch and support for the fingers, all of the tampers are polished and adjusted with the piston template by our collaborating artisan.
