GRAYCANO Special Edition
The Graycano Special Edition is a redesigned CONE S FAST Specialty Coffee Filter. Its angle and size have been modified to provide a better fit over the Graycano lava ribs. This dripper has a slight angle difference compared to a typical V60 dripper, so a specific design is needed for the perfect fit.
By modifying the filter angle to -2.75º and adjusting the filter shape when folded, we can ensure that it stays inside the dripper or rests carefully over the lava ribs. This prevents random filter positioning or uneven contact between the filter and the dripper core (not the grooves).

The precise fitting of the filter into the dripper grooves improves air and flow circulation, resulting in a more controlled and consistent extraction process. A more uniform filter fitting leads to more even contact surfaces between the filter and dripper, while an uneven fitting can disrupt air and flow circulation, leading to either blockages or increased flow, affecting the extraction process.
The graphic above shows the consistent drawdown flow provided by the Graycano CONE Special Edition. Compared to the regular CONE, the Special Edition delivers a slightly slower but more even drawdown, with less variation in extraction time (3 seconds vs 7 seconds). We believe this is due to the wider angle of the regular CONE for V60, which creates air gaps depending on the filter placement. This time difference and variation may increase under normal brewing conditions and with different pouring techniques.
The CONE GRAYCANO SPECIAL EDITION is made of the FAST Specialty Coffee Filters. Its unique structure design allows the filter to stay fixed over the dripper grooves and due to the paper’s rigidness the filter maintains its conical shape. Additionally, the FAST filters provide the quickest drawdown to the dripper and filter combo.
The above graphic depicts the difference of drawdown speed between the CONE Graycano Special Edition and a regular filter. The difference may be greater under normal brewing conditions and different pours.
Also, the filter height has been reduced to avoid the filter shape to overpass the dripper body. This allows the user to pour very closer to the coffee slurry with a more precise pour, more flow control and with more balance (control over the pour flow, ml/sec.).
